Obituaries Julia Goodman FAIR LAWN Julia R. Goodman died May 26. She was a member of Temple Beth Sholom, Fair Lawn, and its Sisterhood. She was also a member of Hadassah. Louis Suburban Chapel, Fair Lawn, handled Valerio Piccirilli FAIR LAWN Valerio Piccirilli, 82, died May 22.

Before retiring in 1962, he was self-employed in the sales industry He also was a math professor in Italy He received a doctoral degree in agricultural science from the University of Bolonga in Italy He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart R.C. Church, Rochelle Park. He was a member of the Cosmos Club and the Happy Seniors, both in Fair Lawn, and AARP. Surviving are his wife, Johanna (D'Ugo); a daughter, Addie Ferrari; and two grandchildren. A son, Richard, is deceased.

Mass was offered May 27 at Sacred Heart R.C. Church, with entombment in George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. Vander Plaat Colonial Home, Fair Lawn, handled arrangements. Louis Salerno Louis P. Salerno, 53, of Elmwood Park, formerly of Fair Lawn and Suffern, N.Y., died May 21.

Before retiring in 2001, he was a postal worker in Suffern, N.Y., for 32 years, and was a former executive vice president of the postal workers union. He was a parishioner of St. Leo's R.C. Church, Elmwood Park. He was a member of the Mah-wah Elks Lodge.

He was a former captain and member of the Suffern Volunteer Fire Department Hose Company 1. Surviving are his wife, Susan P. (Smithlin); a daughter, Kelli-Anne; and a sister, Philomena Kanasky. A son, Christopher is deceased. Mass was offered May 24 at St.

Carlough, 87, died May 21. Before retiring in 1977, he was a shift foreman for Public Service Electric and Gas Paterson, where he worked for 38 years. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Elmwood Park Golden Age Club and a former member of the Paterson Rod Gun Club. Surviving are his wife, ments.

Before retiring in 1994, he was a bricklayer for Benfatto Construction Lodi. He was a member of the Bricklayers Association, Morristown.

He was a parishioner of St Anne R.C. Church, Fair Lawn, and a member of the St Joseph's Club, Hawthorne. Surviving are his wife, Carmela (Elia); a son, Frank; a daughter, Gina Catania; two brothers, Salvatore and Giuseppe; and four grandchildren. A funeral Mass was held May 28 at St Anne R.C. Church, Fair Lawn, with interment in Calvary Cemetery, Paterson.

A graveside service was held May 27 at Riverside Cemetery, Saddle Brook. Jeffrey Bell Jeffrey Bell, 46, of Spring Hill, formerly of Fair Lawn, died May 27. He had worked with United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America Local 15, Hackensack, for 18 years. He was a Navy veteran. He was a member of Rose of Sharon Lutheran Church, New Egypt.

Surviving are two sons, Jeffrey B. and Keith his father, George; his mother, Carmelia (Pienkewicz); two brothers, George and Timothy; a sister Lisa; and his companion, Kathy Malan-drucca. A child Casey is deceased. A funeral service was held May 31 at Vander Plaat Colonial Home, Fair Lawn, followed by a private cremation.
