I just heard police being dispatched to an address with holes being dug. They said there are multiple holes. I hope I hear the outcome of this. Glad to know they do something if called. | ||

The bad news is one or more people were digging holes. The good news is OBX still has police who will respond to calls. The national news has stories of police not responding to calls across the country. | ||

Unless they left it unattended or didn't fill it in and were leaving - this is a complete waste of taxpayer dollars. | ||

Unless they left it unattended or didn't fill it in and were leaving - this is a complete waste of taxpayer dollars. People are so clueless over this. As I said on another thread recently, we filled in holes from a family next to us a couple of weeks ago. The other party though that came along with the hole diggers drove out while we were filling in the holes and stared us down while they were leaving. Hubby said that he was glad that they saw us filling it in hoping they would remember the next time they were on the beach digging holes. | ||

Maybe, just maybe when one of the digging idiots actually fall in a sand hole, and their butt land lower than the leg on the way down, and said leg breaks, well, maybe they will quit being idiots...but I really doubt it. | ||

I was told yesterday, by a neighbor that ran into the new Kitty Hawk police chief on the beach, that they regularly now patrol the beach on the ATV their department owns. Maybe only Kitty Hawk is doing this, but I have never seen police patrolling the beach. | ||

I have seen them in KDH. Black Gator-like vehicle marked POLICE. Saw it on June 5 and then never again over the next few weeks. | ||

I have seen them in KDH. Black Gator-like vehicle marked POLICE. Saw it on June 5 and then never again over the next few weeks. Nags Head Police have a similar vehicle and I see them on the beach occasionally, usually in the shoulder seasons. | ||
